Dry Rising mains Installation

Dry and wet rising mains are intended for use by the Fire Brigade or other trained personnel and provide a readily available means of delivering considerable quantities of water to extinguish or to prevent the spread of fire.

Dry risers comprise vertical mains, which are fitted into staircase enclosures or other suitable positions with outlet valves on each floor and inlets fitted at ground level to enable the Fire Brigade to connect into the water supply.

A wet riser is a pipe kept permanently charged with water available either direct from a storage tank, via a booster pump, or fed directly from the towns main water supply.

Before installation of a dry or wet riser mains the local Fire Brigade must be consulted, to ascertain their exact requirements.

Dry & Wet Riser Boxes

The Boxes are constructed from 1.5mm Zintec steel and are supplied as standard with 2.5mm thick architrave 38mm wide

Boxes are finished and dry powder coated, red as standard. Other colours available.

Each Box is fitted as standard with a fire brigade lock and key and a wired glass window fixed with glazing rubber.

Special boxes for foam inlets, single, three or four way breechings are available upon request.

Door fitted with stainless steel piano hinges clearance hole in back of box for flanges to slide through.

1.5mm Zintec steel back box.600mm dia.With 230mm dia. cutout for breeching.
Finished red.
Architrave: 2.5mm Stainless steel brush satin finish c/w stainless steel piano hinge. Door 550mm dia x 400mm wide.

Dry Riser Valves

Landing Valve

All gunmetal with cast iron handwheel.
Inlet: Can be flanged or screwed to customer requirements.
Outlet: Instantaneous female 2 1/2" c/w plastic cap and chain.

These valves are manufactured to B.S.5041 part 2 for use on dry riser installations.

The landing valve is manufactured from gunmetal with cast iron handwheel and plastic blank cap and chain.(Gunmetal caps optional)

The breechings are designed to be used in either the horizontal or vertical position. The body is in cast iron with gunmetal components. The standard breeching has two inlets but is available in 3 way or 4 way in-line or 4 way square pattern.

The automatic air release valves are manufactured from brass and are available with a 3/4" or 1" BSP threaded inlet. Boxes for housing the landing valve and breeching are available on request.

Breeching

Body: Cast iron. Flanged outlet 4" diam. Standard NP16 or to requirements.
Inlets: Gunmetal instantaneous male c/w non-return valves. Rubber blank caps and chain.
Drain Valve: 1" Gate Valve with blank cap and chain.

Air Release Valve

Automatic.
All Brass with solid rubber ball.
Inlet: Screwed BSP 3/4" or 1".

Weights: -

Valves tested to 300 PSI for working pressure of 150 PSI
